Guidelines for Ashton Kutcher Network's Fan Forum

1) Be nice and respectful of Ashton, admins, moderators, and other members. There is no flaming. Flaming makes for a negative atmosphere and it will not be tolerated. That means you should avoid yelling at and needlessly criticizing other members. Please respect each other and choose your words wisely. Each user has their own point of view, and these views must be respected.

2) NO ASHTON SITE PIMPING ALLOWED. Got an Ashton site you are trying to publicize? Then submit the URL to Google and Yahoo not AKN. This means you may link your site in your profile but unless you are granted permission by admin you may NOT a) use the PM system to invite every one to your site b) announce it in posts at the AKN forum, c) email members invitations by using the email button at the forum, d) display your sites links or banners in your signatures at the forum. See rule 14 & 15 which also apply to site pimping.

3) Do not start a new topic if the same topic already exists. If you aren't sure then use the Search option.

4) Do not attach images that are already loaded in the gallery or already attached in the forum. This causes the same picture being loaded multiple times on my server and eating up our webspace. AKN is fully funded by me - let's all work to keep it clean so it can stay fully funded by me.

5) Do not call his girlfriends or love interests disrespectful names. If you'd like to say you don't like their hair, their dress, or their smile, or whatever that is fine, BUT do not resort to name calling or use words such as HATE, etc.

6) Do not use strong sexual language. Remember this is a public forum where children and adults can see whatever we write. Strong sexual language would be foul names for private body parts - and describing sexual activities.

7) Do post your topics in the appropriate forums. You have many to choose from. Look at the main index of the forum and read the descriptions if you are not sure.

8) Do not venture waaaay off topic. If you go off topic it is okay, but if the thread stays off topic for more than three posts then you probably need to start a new one in the appropriate forum. Hijacking legitimate threads with chatter between two or three members is very very annoying.

9) Do not use the private messenging system to a)harrass other members or b) to violate 1, 2, 4, or 5 from above.

10) No advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or solicitations are allowed on our forums. Links to pornography are not permitted. These actions are known as trolling. Posters engaging in this type of behavior will lose their membership rights and be removed.

11) Do not post in all caps! That's considered Internet lingo for yelling. If a thread title or post is typed in all caps, it will be edited or deleted. dO nOt PoSt LiKe THiS, eItHEr. Also, don’t abuse the privilege of being able to post using different font sizes and colors, or your post will also be edited or deleted.

12) Do not double post. Posting two or more times in a row is not necessary. There is an edit button for all posts you make, and it should be used. Double posting is a waste of bandwidth.

13) Religious or Political sigs, posts, and PMs are not allowed.

14) AKN Members who run Ashton sites may link to their sites through their profile. This will allow members to click on the "www" button below each of your posts. Please do not use your signatures on the AKN Fan Forum to advertise to get traffic to your sites. Banners/ pictures may be used but they should not be flashing advertisements for other Ashton sites. Special permission from the admins might be granted to sites who contribute to AKN's community.  Don't ask. I'll offer. AKN's popularity didn't get to where it is today by pimping all over other Ashton boards. Unless you have something unique to offer, this is considered disrespectful. 15) AKN Members running Ashton fan sites should abide by the rules of AKN's gallery "Ashton-ished" as well. Using pictures from Ashton-ished without permission on your site, and without linking back to AKN is not allowed. Several Ashton fan sites have courteously asked permission and I have yet to date to turn anyone down, but they asked before they used them.

Any violations of the above can result in suspension or being banned from participating at the AKN fan forum.
